DESCRIPTION:Spring Cleanup & Yard Waste Collection Day\n\n\nTOWN OF MERRIMAC SPRING CLEANUP & YARD WASTE COLLECTION DAY\nTown of Merrimac Residents Only- ID Required\nSaturday\, May 16\, 2026 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.\n  \nSPRING CLEANUP\nAt the Merrimac Town Hall\, Corner of Hwy 113 and Halweg Road \n*** NO DUMPING PRIOR TO SATURDAY**** \nITEMS ACCEPTED: \n\nMetal – microwaves\, water heaters\, water softeners\, stoves\, washers\, dryers\, dishwashers\, freezers\, refrigerators\, air conditioners\, steel barrels fencing & other metal objects.\nOld Cars\, Trucks & Farm Machinery may possibly be picked up at your residence. Contact Mike Sitton (608-434-5374)**\n\n  \nFEES (please bring correct cash): \n$2.00:  car and truck tires (must be off the rims) \n$6.00:  large furniture\, bed springs\, mattresses\, carpets\, rugs\, televisions\, radios\, computers\, toilets\, sinks\, easy chairs \n$10.00: large tractor tires (must be off the rims) \n  \nITEMS NOT ACCEPTED: \n\nYARD WASTE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AT THIS SITE.  The town will collect yard waste behind the Merrimac Conservation Club off of Highway 78.\nPaint\, chemicals\, solvents\, antifreeze\, insecticides or pesticides\, motor oil\, or batteries. \nWaste generated by contractors\, house demolition or remodeling waste\, stone or rubble will not be collected. \nMotorized vehicles of any kind.\n\n **CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS WILL BE REFUSED** \n ITEMS NOT LISTED WILL BE TAKEN AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ATTENDANTS.  THEIR DECISIONS ARE FINAL. \n  \nYARD WASTE COLLECTION\nAt the Village of Merrimac Wastewater Treatment Plant behing the Merrimac Conservation Club. The Merrimac Conservation Club is located 1 mile west of the Village of Merrimac. A large green sign is located at the entrance on the north side of Hwy 78/113.  Follow the gravel road and stay to the right to enter the Wastewater Treatment Plant. This property belongs to the Village of Merrimac.  \nNO DUMPING AT ANY OTHER TIME.  \nITEMS ACCEPTED:  \n\nGrass clippings\nLeaves\nBranches and other brush.\nOrganic yard waste only\n\nYour load will be inspected and any other materials will be turned away to continue offering this service in the future.  \n\nNext Brush collection day:  Saturday\, June 20\, 2026 – 9:00am-12:00pm. \n  \n **** Two or members of the Town Board may be present at either site during this time period\, which would constitute a quorum of the town board.  The Town Board is not meeting on this date and is only there for the purpose of conducting the business noted above.  ***
