2026 Comprehensive Plan Update: The Town of Merrimac is undertaking an update to its Comprehensive Plan. The Comprehensive Plan was adopted in 2004 and last amended in 2018.  Wisconsin state law requires communities that regulate land use, as the Town does through its zoning and land division codes, to adopt a Comprehensive Plan that is consistent with the state law.  Communities are required to use the adopted Comprehensive Plan to guide and inform land use decisions such as requests to rezone property, divide land, and issue building permits. How to get involved? Review and leave comments on the Town’s interactive land use map. Town of Merrimac Public Input Map 2026 Attend the community visioning workshop on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. The workshop will  be held at Town Hall in conjunction with the Plan Commission’s regular meeting.  Planning and Zoning Commission meetings begin at 6 pm. Attend regular Plan Commission or Town Board meetings. An opportunity to provide comments will be provided at each meeting until the plan is adopted.
