Spring Road Posting as Class “B” Highways Effective March 9, 2026: Spring weather is here and as the frost comes out of the ground, it puts the roads at risk of damage. Effective March 9, 2026, all town roads will be posted as Class “B” highways, allowing haulers to carry 60% of legal load. Thank you for your cooperation to help maintain the roads!

At the Village of Merrimac Wastewater Treatment Plant behind the Merrimac Conservation Club. The Merrimac Conservation Club is located 1 mile west of the Village of Merrimac. A large green sign is located at the entrance on the north side of Hwy 78/113. Follow the gravel road and stay to the right to enter the Wastewater Treatment Plant. No dumping at any other time. This property is owned by the Village of Merrimac.

Items accepted: 

  • Grass clippings
  • Branches and other brush
  • Leaves
  • Organic yard waste only

Your load will be inspected and any other materials will require us to turn you away.
