As storms become more severe and impact multiple counties at once, Sauk County now has an
in-house tool that makes reporting more efficient. This is especially important during weather events
when state resources are stretched to their limits.

In past disasters, assistance for private property owners has been limited, and a Statewide Disaster
Declaration does not automatically change that. However, as overall damage totals increase, federal
assistance may become available, which could open the door to additional resources. If that happens,
we want to ensure we have your information on file so we can contact you promptly.
